Free Easy Savory Chaffles Recipe

These Savory Chaffles are a version of the original chaffle recipe. They are perfect for sandwiches, burger buns, taco shells, and endless dipping and snacking! Feel free to try different cheeses here and add any herbs and spices you like.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp egg whites (or 1 large egg)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, Monterey Jack, or other hard cheese)
  • 2 tbsp almond flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder

Directions:

  1. Preheat your waffle maker for about 5 minutes. You can use either a mini waffle maker or a regular-size one.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl until combined.
  3. Add enough batter to the hot waffle maker to cover the surface. Waffle makers will vary in size. You should be able to make 2 mini chaffles or 1 larger one from this batter.
  4. Close the lid and cook for approximately 3-4 minutes. You can tell the chaffle is done when the steam is no longer coming out of the waffle maker or very little is coming out compared to earlier in the cooking process.
  5. Open the lid and allow the chaffle to cool for 5-10 seconds. Carefully remove the chaffle with a spatula and place it on a cooling rack to crisp up. Repeat with any remaining batter.
  6. Plate and serve.

Tips:

  • If you are sensitive to eggy taste, opt for the egg white version of this recipe. You can replace a whole egg with about 3-4 tbsp egg whites for any chaffle recipe.
  • Try adding some herbs or seasonings to this recipe for added flavor.
